Avoid Potential Expenses and Inconveniences

The State of Connecticut recommends a thorough inspection of the septic system as part of a real estate transaction. Your septic system is a major component of the house itself, safely disposing both liquid and solid waste from your household plumbing, and if neglected, may lead to expensive costs and major lifestyle inconveniences.

Septic System Inspection and Pumping

Recently, my husband and I purchased a house in Colchester, which needed a septic system. Eastern Environmental Septic promptly came out to meet with us, discuss the particulars, and give us a quote. Chris did what he said he would do in a very professional manner plus in a timely fashion. Chris completed everything beyond our expectations. My husband and I are very pleased with Chris, the job he did, and his high value work ethics. Thank you Chris.

Just wanted to say thanks for taking good care of my friend Sheila with her recent septic repair! I always know I can count on Eastern Environmental Septic to be honest & fair in an industry where this is not always the case! Your inspections are very thorough and detailed! I appreciate the excellent work you have done for my clients over the past few years. I am glad to have you as a valuable resource, just wish I had found you sooner!

Chris replaced our septic tank and field in preparation for the sale of our home. He is exceptionally professional, respectful, diligent and knowledgeable -- qualities we could see from the time we were first trying to understand the testing/designing/installation process right up the day of our home closing. When our septic problems were discovered just one week before we were moving out-of-state, Chris made time in his schedule to come out to our house to help us understand the process and show us where a new tank and field might be able to be installed --even though the actual location and design could not be planned until after the test holes and perc tests were completed. The earliest date for those tests (which is scheduled through the town) was a week AFTER our move so we were anxious about how we would be able to get everything accomplished in a timely way. Other septic installers/designers told us that they couldn't be bothered to look at our site until after the test results were available, so they were unavailable to meet with us in person. Only Chris took the time to meet with us and answer our questions and consider our concerns.

Then, once we had the perc rates/ test holes, we asked 5 installers for quotes. Chris was the first to respond with a bid-- a very reasonable one-- and a plan to install the new system in time for our buyers to meet their financing deadlines. Of course, the timeline for this type of work is driven by weather and inspection scheduling, but Chris did everything within his control to make sure the work progressed as efficiently as possible. And, in spite of rain and some frigid weather, he was able to complete the job with final permit from the health department a few days ahead of schedule. He took extra precautions to take care of our property, having sand delivered in 3 separate loads to make sure the bridge on our driveway wouldn't be overloaded and making a path for his equipment that had minimal impact on our yard and landscaping. He was very considerate and respectful all through the process, keeping us well informed every step of the way.

We wholeheartedly recommend Chris Morrell! He treated us with kindness and respect while delivering above and beyond our expectations: high quality work, clear communication, and integrity.

Chris Morrell took on a very challenging septic system replacement job at our home last fall. The property is built into a rock ledge hill on the edge of a lake. The system was very old, likely with an inadequate leach field. Firstly, there was an acute problem. Chris responded immediately to our call, and inspected our system very quickly. He created a temporary fix so that we could continue to be in the house, which was very helpful. Following that, he started the huge job of working with the district engineers, the town, and designing a system that would essentially pump uphill, to an optimal location of a new leach field, with a safe distance from water's edge. The physical work was very demanding. There was a large amount of rock to dig and drill through. There were trees to take down, roots to excavate, drainage system designs, etc. The piece of property was fundamentally changed, such that we were concerned it would be far less attractive at job's end. Well, Chris landscaped it in such a way that enhanced the property. He built natural rock steps down the hill, put in a new lawn and established rock walls. It was a magnificent job with great attention to detail. And we know that the most skillful work cannot be seen, as it is underground. We are confident that this system will last through the next generation of our family.

As an additional but equally important point, Chris Morrell is an outstanding individual. Around the time of hiring him to do this big job, we had a family health issue that required much attention. Chris took care of everything on this huge home job, in the most responsible and dedicated way. He knew that our attention was diverted to the family elsewhere, and took it upon himself to work out all logistics, including hand delivering legal documents for which we were responsible, thereby freeing up our time. We had, and do have, the greatest confidence in Chris' work, ethics and dedication.

In summary, I, and my family, give our highest recommendation of Chris Morrell, both in the quality of his work, and who he is as an individual.
